Flint River Ranch Trout & Potato "Fish & Chips" Dog Food
Flint River Ranch Trout & Potato "Fish & Chips" Dog Food
This food is intended for larger adult dogs with sensitive stomachs and/or food allergies. It is a nugget-size "vegetarian" alternative to our Lamb/Millet/Rice formula.
Another tasty option for food-sensitive dogs: "Fish & Chips" dog food doesn't contain corn, wheat, chicken, or rice.
This food is baked in the shape of nuggets that are the same size and shape as our Nugget dog food: each piece is nearly cube-shaped, about 1/2" square on one side and a little smaller on the other side.
Our farm-fresh Rainbow Trout is carefully raised on food that doesn't contain hormones or additives. Our fresh potatoes are rich in potassium and are a highly digestible energy source. The fish is frozen fresh and without additives, and it remains frozen until the time of production. Mixed tocopherols (active forms of vitamin E) are then introduced; tocopherols are used in place of chemical antioxidant preservatives, such as ethoxyquin, BHT, and BHA.

Our trout does not contain by-products like fish heads. There are no breakfast food by-products, corn, cottonseed, corncobs, citrus pulp, soybeans, fillers, and no screening or other foreign materials such as noxious weeds, straw, hulls or chaff in our product.
Most brands of dog food include some of these by-products and chemical preservatives. The use of low quality products and chemical preservatives may be associated with dry skin, allergic reactions, dental disease, poor health and degenerative organ dysfunction.
There is no sprayed-on additive or greasy coating to make the taste acceptable. Ordinary dog foods are extruded under high pressure and extreme temperatures and then sprayed with fat and other products in order to encourage dogs to eat.
Oven-baking changes hard to digest starches into easy to digest dextrins, which are readily absorbed into your dog's system. The secret to Flint River Ranch's great nutrition is how many nutrients are present in the dog's food and how efficiently they are utilized when digested. The good value is baked-in, not sprayed on.
Our food is baked several times per week, so you always receive fresh food! One of the most important aspects of Flint River Ranch quality is our distribution system of moving the product from the manufacturer direct to the consumer "Direct from the Oven to your Home." It is a necessary benefit in providing a "fresh" food product with premium nutrition. This is one reason Flint River Ranch products are not available in grocery and warehouse stores.
Because the Kibble is high density, you feed 20%-25% less than other foods. Each serving delivers maximum nutrition without fillers, so you'll also notice a lower stool volume and less clean-up.
It is better to introduce super premium foods by first mixing with your dogs usual food. You should make the change gradually over 5-7 days by mixing the FRR food with the brand previously used. Start with a mixture of 10% - 15% FRR food, then increase the percentage of FRR food by 10% - 15% each day until the transition is complete. Without the gradual transition from the other brand to richer FRR food, pets may get upset stomachs and diarrhea. Don't try to speed the process by mixing a bag of each food together for a 50/50 mix and starting your pet on that. You and your pet may both be dissatisfied with the results.
Feed your dog once or twice a day. Food requirements vary depending on climate, breed of dog and exercise activity. Feed an amount that will maintain your dog's weight.
