Our Chicken Meal and other meat sources does not contain poultry by-products or other by-products like chicken feet, chicken heads, duck heads, beaks, feathers, fish heads, hides, hoofs and intestines. There are no breakfast food by-products, corn, cottonseed, corncobs, citrus pulp, soybeans, fillers, and no screening or other foreign materials such as noxious weeds, straw, hulls or chaff in our product.
Most brands of cat food include some of these by-products and chemical preservatives. The use of low quality products and chemical preservatives may be associated with dry skin, allergic reactions, dental disease, poor health and degenerative organ dysfunction.
There is no sprayed-on additive or greasy coating to make the taste acceptable. Ordinary cat foods are extruded under high pressure and extreme temperatures and then sprayed with fat and other products in order to encourage cats to eat.
Oven-baking changes hard to digest starches into easy to digest dextrins, which are readily absorbed into your cat's system. The secret to Flint River Ranch's great nutrition is how many nutrients are present in the cat's food and how efficiently they are utilized when digested. The good value is baked-in, not sprayed on.
Our food is baked several times per week, so you always receive fresh food! One of the most important aspects of Flint River Ranch quality is our distribution system of moving the product from the manufacturer direct to the consumer "Direct from the Oven to your Home." It is a necessary benefit in providing a "fresh" food product with premium nutrition. This is one reason Flint River Ranch products are not available in grocery and warehouse stores.
Because the food is high density, you feed 20%-25% less than other foods. Each serving delivers maximum nutrition without fillers, so you'll also notice a lower stool volume and less clean-up.
It is better to introduce super premium foods by first mixing with your cat's usual food. You should make the change gradually over 5-7 days by mixing the FRR food with the brand previously used. Start with a mixture of 10% - 15% FRR food, then increase the percentage of FRR food by 10% - 15% each day until the transition is complete. Without the gradual transition from the other brand to richer FRR food, pets may get upset stomachs and diarrhea. Don't try to speed the process by mixing a bag of each food together for a 50/50 mix and starting your pet on that. You and your pet may both be dissatisfied with the results.
Young kittens may be started on Flint River Ranch by mixing with a little warm water. Feed food dry as soon as the kitten's teeth are strong enough to chew hard food (8 to 10 weeks). Feed the kittens 3 times a day. After six months, change to twice a day.
Adult cats (older than 1 year) can be fed once or twice a day. This depends upon what keeps your cat happy. Your cat should be looking for food when the next meal is due. Teach them to eat at meal times. The amount your cat eats in 15-20 minutes is about the amount they should be fed at a meal. Adjust the food as you notice an increase or decrease in the animal's weight.
Fresh water should be available at all times. Maintaining fresh, clean water is as important for your cat as the type of food fed.
Food requirements vary depending on climate, breed of cat and exercise activity. Feed an amount that will maintain your cat's weight.
